In the morning of the next day we went to the Kuang Si waterfall by car, which is also very touristy. However, it is also quite beautiful there. In addition, there are some bears, althought they are not really entertaining. We hiked up to the top in our flip-flops and there we saw a pretty big spider… Of course we went into the water as well, even though it was quite cold. And Stefan had to jump from a cliff too, obviously. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

The next day was the last for us in Luang Prabang and in the meantime it got quieter here. It seems the tourists really only came for the light festival. One last time we went out for dinner with Roger and Silvia, promenaded through the night market which is for tourists only and is set up every single day. Weird. And then we had to say goodbye to the Swiss guys who wanted to return to Luang Namtha and go from there to Chiang Mai. We would be cycling southwards, but probably we would meet again somewhere between Chiang Mai and Bangkok – who knows. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, we also had to say goodbye to the delicious baguettes and crepes and had to proceed cycling. We heard that now we would have to face the most exhausting part from Luang Prabang to Pho Kham. And it was true, it really was exhausting with some long uphill passages which were in parts damn steep. Although we enjoyed the view at many times, we were wiped out when we arrived in Pho Kham. At dinner Alexandra didn’t get any rice, again, but somehow she was already sick from all those rice dishes. Our accomodation was, by the way, a bit rustic but okay…<\/p>\n

The next day Alexandra could feel the lack of energy but there was no baguette to be found! Therefore we had to torture us up the hills until we first came to the peak and then to Phou Khoun where we had an omelette with rice. More energy! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

The rest of the way was a walk in the park: There was hardly any uphill, mostly just downhill and the view was amazing. Karst and green everywhere! We were so pumped so we had to do some top-performing. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

In Kasi we decided for the cheapest and nicest place and, funny enough, we met two other cyclists there: Davide from Milan and Richard from Manchester. Together we went for dinner (“Fly ly? Sticky ly?”, yes, the clich\u00e9 is alive!) and talked about travelling by bicycle. Davide wants to cycle around the world for up to five years while his girlfriend is waiting at home. Interesting concept. Richards dreams about such a long cycling trip, at the moment he is only cycling for two weeks through Laos, but he has been nearly everywhere anyways.
\nWhen we wanted to leave at 7 in the morning both had already left. But their way was a lot more exhausting as they were going towards Luang Prabang where we had just left.<\/p>\n

For breakfast we went to the local market and got some filled baguettes, filled samosas and sweet balls. Mmmmmh! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
