Either it was that we were recovered or the way back was a bit easier &#8211; we were a bit quicker than the other way. It made us a bit sentimental. \ud83d\ude42 The next morning we also met a Dutch cyclist who warned us to make a reservation for Sukothai as there would be a festival at the moment. We almost regretted our decision when the first 50 km were mostly uphill&#8230; But when we reached Sukothai we were glad about it. Although there was a lot going on and suddenly a wild mass of tourists appeared, we were instantly in awe for the monuments of the historic park.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening we went to see the festival in details and had to state that in Thailand the light festival is celebrated in a more ample way than in Laos. Nearly the whole area was full of food and vending stalls, lights and candles and lampions, performances and music. Roger mentioned that he somehow thought we would meet here again, but we didn&#8217;t dare to hope so. \ud83d\ude00 Once again we went to see the celebrations together and then we finally had to really say goodbye.
